An upscale Italian restaurant in Monte Carlo has expanded to the UWS. Rampoldi, from MC Hospitality Group – the people behind Casa Limone in Midtown and Atlantic Grill – is now open at 43 West 64th Street between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West.

As displayed on the restaurant group’s Instagram page, both Mayor Eric Adams and Monaco’s Prince Albert II attended the grand opening.
Rampoldi is led by Chef Antonio Salvatore – “famous for both his classical recipes and original, signature dishes,” per a July 2022 Hello Monaco review. In the same article, the author points out that Rampoldi “happens to be the first 100% organic restaurant distinguished by the Michelin guide.”
The interior of the New York restaurant was designed to match that of its European sister. “You’ll be able to find the recognizable and iconic marbles, the mirror arches, and the Murano-glass chandeliers,” states the restaurant’s website. That is, if you happen to have dined at this restaurant when you were in Monte Carlo …
The menu, which also appears to be the same at the two restaurants, features tartares (salmon, beef, crab); carpaccios (tuna, beef, octopus); three pizzas; pastas; seafood; and a generous list of main course meats.
Meat and seafood entrees are priced between about $40 and $80 and pastas range from $26 to $59.
Here are some very dramatic words from Chef Antonio Salvatore.

You can feel it in the air, it’s subtle yet untouchable. Our formula is inimitable and irreplicable, even after so many years no one was able to duplicate it with the same intensity and love.

cognac and cigars?
Is it any good?
The Mayor was there. What a shock! He can’t govern but the sure can go out to expensive dinners.
And I wonder how often, if ever, the mayor pays for his expensive dinners? Platitudes, lies, blame-shifting, and complete incompetence from the ultimate talk-much-and-do-little politician. I didn’t vote for him, but when he won the primary, I consoled myself by thinking that he would at least do a good job on crime. Not even that. The City is overrun with lawlessness without consequences, and the police have no support from the mayor or the DA. Repeat offenders can commit violent crimes with impunity. They don’t even try to stop all the illegal loud dirt bikes and other illegal vehicles that fly through red lights on the street and bike lanes and even on the sidewalks. And he just goes to dinners and blames immigration for the problems of the City instead of himself for failing to address them.
i agree with you completely. the city burns while the mayor dines
Steven:
The NYPD class illegal red running by dirt bikes and the likes of e-bikes as quality of life issues. So not pedestrian endangerment.
Pack of 20+ dirt bikes flying up Amsterdam in the West 70s on Tues evening sure seemed like more than a nuisance.
And having been hit by a jerk on a throttle e-bike, it’s hard to see them as just quality of life degraders.
Thanks, Robin. Sounds like our own Nero.
Jay, so sorry that you got hit. Multiple articles have shown that the illegal bikes of different kinds have been resulting in serious injuries and deaths, of both pedestrians and rides. I certainly hope your injuries were not serious. I don’t know the bike enforcement specifically, but I’ve read that the the DA’s Office has been downgrading a lot of crimes, including violent assaults that would be serious felonies, making them into minor misdemeanors. I wouldn’t be surprised if the DA’s Office has downgraded the dangerous illegal bikes, too. I think police officers do their best, but they need the Mayor and DA to back them up. Without competent and coordinated efforts from these leaders, the streets and sidewalks and subways will remain unsafe.
You got the address wrong in the article. It says 43 West 64th, but it’s actually 49 West 64th which is the former home of the Atlantic Grill and before that O’Neals. These owners also own the new version of Atlantic Grill which has reopened at a new location on 65th.
Only a fool pays that much for pasta.
NotAFool:
You think Adams paid for his meal. Or do you just mean the place is pricey, and quite possibly not that good?
Only a fool goes up against a Sicilian when death is on the line…
The upper west side loves these kinds of establishments!! More this less Panera… we need to heat the upper east side and this is how we will do it. Restaurants like this increase the real estate around the area. I hope to buy more real estate in the see when I have money honey. Work girl!!!
