Actress Michelle Trachtenberg was found dead Wednesday morning at her Columbus Circle apartment, per reports by various outlets including the New York Post and AMNY. She was 39.
The “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Gossip Girls” actress was found by her mother at 8 a.m. at her apartment at One Columbus Place (at 59th Street).
No foul play is suspected, and sources told multiple news publications that Trachtenberg recently underwent a liver transplant and may have been experiencing complications.
As the NY Post points out, some of the late actress’s Instagram followers have commented about her appearance in recent posts, “in which she appeared gaunt and frail.”
Trachtenberg, a New York City native, got her acting start at the age of three when she began doing commercials. Her television debut was on the Nickelodeon series “The Adventures of Pete & Pete” (1994–1996).
