Good news for Upper West Side pizza lovers — Mimi’s Pizza has announced plans to open a location at 2393 Broadway (between 87th and 88th streets) in a storefront formerly occupied by Sforno, which opened towards the end of 2020 and closed in late June. The space had previously been occupied by a Hot & Crusty.

While an exact date for the grant opening was not shared, Mimi’s told ILTUWS that “it’s happening in the upcoming month.”
“We’re thrilled to confirm that Mimi’s Pizza is indeed coming to the UWS,” a restaurant representative shared. “We can’t wait to be a part of this vibrant neighborhood!”
Mimi’s specializes in pizza that’s made with blended wheat flours, fermented for up to 72 hours and topped with whole peeled crushed tomatoes and part skim mozzarella. The Upper East Side location at 217 East 86th Street (between 2nd and 3rd avenues) has been open since late 2020. Menu highlights include a Bianca e Pepe pizza (Ricotta, grande mozzarella, Romano, garlic & cracked pepper), San Gennaro pizza (Fresh Italian sweet sausage, peppers & onions), Denso Pepperoni pizza (Thick house cut pepperoni (cup & char), fresh mozzarella & sauce,) and pizza with cauliflower crust.
