Joseph Pharmacy has opened their second location at 144 West 72nd Street, between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues. This space was previously occupied by Always Love, a drugstore which closed about two years ago after being in business for around 30 years. The new pharmacy is called Wellness Pharmacy, as they want to differentiate it from their original store.
The first and original Joseph Pharmacy location is at 216 West 72nd Street, between West End and Broadway (and right between the recently closed West Side Cafe and the upcoming 21-story condo at 214 West 72nd Street). This drugstore has been open since 1992 .
With so many small businesses closing, and old buildings getting knocked down to make way for new developments, it’s amazing to witness this independent drugstore not only thriving but actually expanding!
