We first discovered they’d be expanding in November 2020, when we saw the window signage.
The new outpost is right around the corner from the original and flagship location at 209 West 96th Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam. The company first opened this five-level store in 1981.
PlantShed’s new store is a hybrid plant and flower shop with a coffee bar, similar to its location at 555 Columbus Avenue at 87th Street, which opened in 2018.
The Amsterdam Avenue location features outdoor seating, a coffee bar, and locally made pastries.

One Instagram user complimented the new location’s plant selection, as well as their matcha lattes. Others praised the quality and beauty of the space itself.
We’re excited to see this family business – easily one of NYC’s best plant stores – not only survive through these tough times, but prosper and expand.
The new shop is open daily from 9am-6pm. Learn more at www.plantshed.com.
I love Plantshed! So happy to have another one in the neighborhood.
I sell Aloe Plants, Orchid plants and other plants direct to people to raise money for Women’s Shelters in NYC. Please feel free to email me for more information.
So happy to have another Plant Shed open, and in such an elegant and simple space — very inviting, and can’t wait to enjoy their macho lattes (that autocorrect was too priceless to change) in the 90s: joy!
