It appears as though it’s for real this time. The Upper West Side location of Price Wise Discount, located at 2330 Broadway (between 84th and 85th Streets), will be closing on Sunday, October 14th. Fortunately for the owners, they do have another location on the UES.

The sign on their UWS storefront reads:
It is with deep sadness that we announce the closing of Price Wise Discount due to a new development slated for this location. Since 1982 (Ed Koch was Mayor and Hubie Brown coached the Knicks) we’ve proudly served the Upper West Side during blackouts, blizzards, hurricanes and subway strikes.
We are incredibly grateful to our tireless employees and to you, our Upper West Side neighbors and friends, for sticking by us for 36 years.
Thank you all for your loyal patronage, for your smiling faces that greeted us daily, and for the warmth with which you embraced an independent and family-owned business to your neighborhood.
We are still operating our Upper East Side location at 337 East 86th Street (between 1st and 2nd Ave) adjacent to Tal Bagels. We look forward to seeing you there.
