Julia Kiskie, a professional pastry chef, has been named the People’s Choice winner of the Museum of the City of New York’s third annual Gingerbread NYC: The Great Borough Bake-Off.

Her gingerbread Dakota was made from “13 pounds of dense gingerbread, transparent gelatin sheets, and intricate marshmallow piping,” according to a Museum press release, bringing “the iconic and historic Upper West Side building to life.”

More than 11,000 museum-visitors voted in this year’s contest, with 20% voting for Kiskie. Twenty bakers participated, creating gingerbread versions of other iconic sites and structures including the Empire State Building, Prospect Park Boathouse, a sanitation truck, subway stations, and more.

The exhibition is on view through January 12 at the Museum of the City of New York, located at 1220 Fifth Avenue (between 103rd and 104th streets). Learn more about the exhibit here.
