Senior Citizens Day 2017 on the Upper West Side

Gertrude Ederle Recreation Center

232 W. 60th St.

The Gertrude Ederle Recreation Center offers a bunch of amazing amenities for seniors age 62 and older. The annual membership fee for seniors is of only $25 a year. This small amounts grants access to exercise equipment, fitness and dance classes, technology courses, adaptive programs, indoor pool, and sports programs. Some of the classes are also exclusively targeted for seniors. For example, the Aqua Zumba course at the indoor pool consists of one hour of aqua aerobics infused with latin moves. As a result, these exercises boost the flexibility of the skeletal system. Other courses such as Shape Up NYC yoga are all about bringing health and awareness to one’s own body through a series of slow movements. Gift them with a membership to the rec center this fall. They’re bound to also make some new friends along the way!
