Are you an older adult living on the Upper West Side with a passion for music? It’s time to warm up those vocal cords because spring registration is now open for Encore Creativity for Older Adults’ fantastic program: Encore Chorale of New York City West! This program offers a welcoming community where singers aged 55 and above can explore their love of music with like-minded individuals while also enjoying the tremendous benefits of participating in professionally-led choral arts programs.
Held at the Broadway Presbyterian Church on W 114th Street, the Encore Chorale of New York City West meets on Wednesdays from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Under the direction of the talented conductor Bernadette Hoke, participants will engage in 22.5 hours of rehearsal across the season, culminating in a spectacular end-of-semester concert. No audition is necessary, and you don’t need to read music—just bring your enthusiasm and love for singing!
If you don’t mind venturing to the East Side and love to groove to rock ‘n’ roll classics, New York City ROCKS is the place to be! This group meets on Tuesdays from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Park Avenue United Methodist Church on E 86th Street. Sing timeless hits while forging new friendships and cherishing the camaraderie that singing creates.
