At a time when so many small businesses in the neighborhood are going under, it’s very refreshing to see a local mom & pop shop grow and expand in the community. Momentum Fitness and MICCASS Physical Therapy have formally announced their move to a new studio at 246 Columbus Avenue, formerly the home of Columbus 72 nightclub.
For almost 10 years now, Momentum and MICCASS have been neighborhood favorites, operating out of a small 80th street studio and run by a local husband & wife team. Their new space, on Columbus between 71 & 72, has been custom built from the ground up to provide a bright and open space that will feel warm and welcoming. The new studio features all the high end bells and whistles you find at the big fitness clubs; a brand new yoga/pilates studio, massage therapy, and full shower, locker and towel, amenities, all at affordable prices and without the need for any costly membership or initiation fees.
With a team of expert trainers and some of the best group fitness instructors in the industry; Momentum Fitness has been providing movement-based personal training and group fitness in order to get you moving pain free while still getting you in the best shape of your life. If you have ever had Physical Therapy or know of someone who has then chances are you’ve heard of Jenny and her team at MICCASS. With a caring and warm approach to treatments, MICCASS is known for their personalized attention to detail rather than just running you through a revolving door of patients, as is common in many practices. The two businesses work together beautifully to provide an all in one stop for all your fitness and recovery needs.
Momentum and MICCASS will close up shop on Friday, December 8, and reopen on Sunday December 10 for a big grand opening weekend at their new location. Sunday and Monday, December 10 & 11, they will have a full day of free group fitness classes in order to show off their new space and showcase their new classes and instructors. On Monday evening they will have a big open house party in order to welcome everybody into the new space and give them the chance to meet the owners and staff. All free classes are subject to availability and can be booked online through their website or mobile app. They are also offering some discounts and giveaways for those who attend the open house so make sure to mark your calendars and let’s help welcome this local business into their new home on the Upper West Side!
