Summer on the Hudson returns May 1 for its 23rd annual season, and this will be the outdoor festival’s biggest year to date with nearly 400 free events.
Offerings will take place between 59th and 181st Streets in Riverside Park, with events focused on arts and music, health and wellness, education, nature and more.

According to a press release from the Riverside Park Conservancy, which runs the series alongside NYC Parks, two new events will be taking place on Pier I in Riverside Park South: Vinyl Nights, an “inclusive night of dancing to vintage tunes on vinyl spun by live DJs” on July 26 and August 23, and Riverside Comedy Club, which will bring live standup to the pier on July 25 and August 29. Riverside Comedy Club will be hosted by Nat Townsen (The Tonight Show, Nickelodeon).
“Fan-favorite events at Pier I will return in tandem, including Silent Disco, live concerts, game nights and more,” the press release states. “In line with the 2025 Pier I Picture Show’s Dynamic Duos theme, featured movies include Dirty Dancing (1987), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), and Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid (1969) and other favorites.”
Educational programming will also be emphasized this year, with a variety of nature tours and workshops. One monthly event, the Locomotive Open House, will give parkgoers an exclusive “peek inside the newly renovated locomotive in Riverside Park South,” and a new festival–Compostalooza on October 11 at the 95th Street Compost Compound–”will celebrate the Conservancy’s work with compost and its impact on urban soil with demonstrations, science experiments, and live entertainment.”

Except that Riverside Park starts at West 72nd Street.
Riverside Park South is a different “park”, which already has plenty of noise from the elevated Westside Highway.
