The tragedy of October the 1st 2017 in Las Vegas rocked the nation again with the senseless loss of life and the immeasurable sorrow and pain for those families and friends impacted.
Steve Sisolak, Clark County Commission Chair from Las Vegas, kicked off a fund to help those families effected and tens of thousands of people from across America and the world have pitched in to help. Two Upper West Side residents, Ann Pennington and Alison Trenk, want to help too and on October the 25th will be hosting a Vegas Strong Fund Raiser at Prohibition, 503 Columbus Ave.

Ann Pennington, a born and raised Las Vegan and 7 year Upper West Side resident explains. “Las Vegas is my home town. I was born there and my family still resides there. The Upper West Side is my home now and I have been deeply touched with the willingness to help of its residents and businesses.”
Alison and her husband Michael, the owners of Prohibition, quickly joined forces with Ann with the offer to host the event and fund raise. Prohibition has been entertaining the Upper West Side since 1996 and is a popular meeting point for Upper West Siders.
Other businesses have also quickly offered help. Savor Spa have donated treatments from its beautiful UWS location for a silent auction and Ann’s own company Eye For Style has also donated handbags and other stylish items.
You can buy tickets or make a donation for the fundraiser via THIS site. It is incredible to see the UWS coming together again to help others and yet another reason why I Love The Upper West Side.
