On Monday, we delivered awful news about the impending closure of Westsider Rare & Used Books, which has already launched an “everything must go” sale with all items offered at a 30% discount. Westsider Books first announced this on their Facebook page.
But on January 15th, a passionate Upper West Sider named Bobby Panza began a GoFundMe in the hopes of keeping the iconic bookstore open.
The goal is to raise $50,000, which would be enough to keep the beloved business open.
And in less than 24 hours, over $11,000 has been raised!
Westsider Rare & Used Books has been a neighborhood staple since they opened 35 years ago, buying and selling rare and used books and music.
They’re also the perfect representation of Upper West Side NYC heart and soul. And are a perfect example of why so many of us love the Upper West Side.
So please help keep this wonderful store alive and donate now!
