William Randolph Hearst’s former Central Park West penthouse is currently on the market for $17.995 million, 6sqft.com first announced.  The current owner is the CEO of T-Mobile, John Legere, who bought the apartment for $18 million in 2015.

Legere bought the apartment for $18 million in 2015 (the sale became a public record on October 9th of 2015). He purchased it from the Estate Of Carol T. Blake, which had originally listing the home at $27.5 million.

Legere first listed the apartment back in February for $22 million, with a different broker.  In August, the apartment had been taken off the market, and it was just re-listed several days ago.

Designed by architectural firm SheltonMindel, Penthouse A (PHA) at 91 Central Park West is an eight room, four bed, four bath duplex with dripping details like stained glass windows, wood-beamed ceilings, a huge terrace with three terraces offering 100 feet of Central Park views, a private elevator landing and a wood-burning fireplace surrounded by a floor-to-ceiling mantle.

William Randolph Hearst (1863-1951) is known for creating Hearst Communications, a giant media company and newspaper publisher which today has its headquarters on West 57th Street and owns over 360 businesses.

Hearst was also a member of the House of Representative’s in a New York district from 1903 to 1907.

In addition to owning this amazing apartment, Hearst also owned a 14,000 square foot penthouse on Riverside Drive, and a mansion in Beverly Hills.
