Yoga with Michelle in Riverside Park!

Michelle Lehrman’s approach to teaching yoga is literally a breath of fresh air. Her outdoor power yoga classes are carefully crafted and tailored depending on the weather, so that people at all experience levels can enjoy them. Michelle invites you to join her classes in Riverside Park where you’ll focus on movement and breathing to create a wellness experience like none other.

Michelle has extensive experience teaching yoga and fitness. She has completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2016 at Lyons Den Power Yoga, and is also an instructor at Crunch Fitness and the Athleta studio in Flatiron. Michelle is well versed in multiple fitness disciplines, including spin. She is Schwinn-certified and you may recognize her from teaching spin at Crunch on the UWS. Her clients leave rave reviews about her ability to motivate them during challenging work out sessions.

Classes are always socially distant and fellow attendees are pre-screened to ensure everyone’s safety. She does a great job adjusting to wherever you are in your practice and takes us through a custom flow to meet our needs. I’m grateful to have found such a kind, considerate and experienced teacher in the neighborhood. Highly recommend!

“I want everyone to know that my classes are for all fitness levels. I will always offer modifications so that each person can participate and get a full experience during the class,” says Michelle.

Michelle’s passion for helping her clients stay focused on their fitness goals is now her full time job. She was busy working in the theatre industry for about 15 years, but is now focusing on her fitness teaching and looks forward to working with the UWS community. Michelle has lived on the UWS for over 12 years and is excited to get to know more of her neighbors at both her classes in the park and for private sessions.

Taking safety measures to protect everyone from the COVID-19 virus is a top priority for Michelle. All classes are socially distanced and masks are required – even outside in the park. She is also asking her students to confirm they have not been in a state with a travel advisory for at least 2 weeks prior to taking her course. There will be no indoor classes at this time.

“Yoga was, and has been, very necessary for me during quarantine. It got me moving everyday and helped to keep anxiety about the state of the world in check,” says Michelle.

Being a good neighbor and good person is what Michelle is all about. She loves her 3-year-old yorkie named Apollo and brings him to morning classes in the park. She always looks for ways to help and assist clients and is flexible to fit the needs of their schedules.

Riverside Park classes are  just $10 per person  and if you’ve lost your job or have no income, Michelle says to let her know.

“I believe yoga should be available to everyone and I do not want to be cost-prohibitive when we all need yoga more than ever,” she says.
