It has been announced that Bank Street Bookstore, located at 2780 Broadway at 107th Street, will be permanently closing at the end of August. Management attributes “the temporary closure of the store since mid-March combined with the challenge and cost of meeting ongoing social distancing measures.”
Orders will continue to be filled through July 17th, followed by a final sale of current inventory through the month of August. Curbside pickup will also be available through July and August.

With a heavy heart, the Bank Street Bookstore has made the very difficult decision to permanently close at the end of August. We will miss all the authors, illustrators, families and educators that we’ve welcomed through our doors. Thank you all for celebrating children’s literature with us. You can see our full announcement on the website at bankstreetbooks.com, including details about summer ordering. We are sorry to be the second brick-and-mortar children’s bookstore in New York City to close due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, after @storiesbk. Please continue to support @booksofwonder, and all the other wonderful indie bookstores in this city.
