Alex Navarro worked as a super for several buildings on West 104th Street for seventeen years. On March 17, he sadly passed away, leaving behind his wife and four sons.
Navarro had lost his job last fall. “Since then, he experienced lots of difficulties, physically and emotionally,” reads a GoFundMe campaign created to help his family during this time of need.
The campaign aims to raise a total of $60,000, which will cover “funeral expenses, counseling, a car, and monthly expenses while they get back on their feet.”
Since it launched on March 21, a total of $4,100 has been raised by 53 donors (as of writing).

So sorry to hear about this, Alex wasn’t just my super, but also became my friend. After I moved out, I looked forward to every time I saw him on 104th street. Rest in peace.
So sad to hear this. He was my first super when I moved to NYC in 2004, and such a kind man. Thank you for sharing this information.
