This year, the annual Central Park Holiday Lighting will have to be enjoyed from a distance.

The event will take place at The Harlem Meer as usual, and can be live-streamed on the Conservancy’s Facebook page on December 3 at 5:15pm.

The virtual reimagining of the event will lots of caroling and a countdown to the lighting with a flotilla of trees floating in the Meer. They’ll also be sharing a time-lapse video of an ice carving!

The event is being hosted by the Women’s Committee of the Central Park Conservancy, and will mark the 24th anniversary of the lighting.

If you’re seeking more holiday cheer, Rockefeller Center’s Tree Lighting Ceremony will be taking place on December 2. And on Saturday, November 28, the third annual tree lighting ceremony will be taking place (in person) in Morningside Park; find details here.
