Five Below, the land of the 5 dollar holler, where most products go for $5.55 or less, is planning an October opening at 805 Columbus Ave. by West 100th Street. The Philadelphia-based retail chain currently has more than 1,200 stores across 40 states in the U.S. The Upper West Side opening will mark the brand’s second New York City location. Thanks to @_25carie on Instagram for the tip.
“We’re still the home of the $5 backpack,” proclaims the Five Below website. The online store offers plenty of cost-effective options for school supply shopping, from Yoda and Squishmallow $5 notebooks to 48-piece colored pencil sets. Or pairs of Pilot gel roller pens and Crayola markers for $3.25. For just a buck, you can score two-panel folders, Mead wide-rule notebooks and binder clips.
Five Below also has a robust room décor section. This script love light, handwoven chindi rug (3 feet by 5 feet) and folding foot stool are a few of their bestsellers and all go for $5.55. Dog owners can take advantage of a 30-pack of puppy potty training pads, various beds and clothes in the same price range.
Five Below also has a new Five Beyond section, with products over the $5.55 benchmark that still deliver prices “Waaay below the rest!” according to their website.
This wireless pair of headphones for $7 looks like a sweet score, especially if you’re prone to losing earbuds, like many are. For the artist or social media influencer on a budget, you might fancy this 10-inch LED color-changing ring light with a phone mount and remote for $10.
You’ll notice the lion’s share of products at Five Below are geared towards a younger audience. Five Below offers an assortment of toys and games and beauty products that span from hair care and skin care products to makeup with brushes, tools and applicators. There’s also a style section where you can score $5 sneakers, sandals and graphic tees like this incredible unisex Care Bears Rollin With My Homies T-shirt. All my Clueless fans out there know what I’m talking about.
Glad they make that in my size.
