Felice Plans To Open in Former Oxbow Tavern Space

Last modified on December 8th, 2021

Community Board 7 notes indicate that Felice, an Italian restaurant and wine bar, plans to open a location at 240 Columbus Avenue, between 71st and 72nd Streets. This space was formerly home to Oxbow Tavern, which closed in June but expects to reopen at another location at some point.

Until December 5, the storefront is being occupied by The Cashmere Sale popup.

The notes from Community Board 7 state that Felice is applying for a liquor license at the space. We’ve connected with a representative for the restaurant who tells us they haven’t yet signed a lease, but given that it’s on the community board agenda, we assume that will be happening soon.

Felice has other locations on the Upper East Side, the Financial District, at the Time Out New York Market in Dumbo, and in Midtown at West 56th Street. Felice’s original location can be found at 1166 1st Avenue (at 64th Street). Most ratings across restaurant locations and online platforms range from 4 to 5 stars, and location descriptions include lots of “rustic charm.”

We don’t yet know when they’ll open at 240 Columbus, but beginning on November 16, Felice will be offering delivery to the UWS from its 56th Street restaurant (Felice56). This location “offers elegant Tuscan cuisine, preparing Italian classics with the freshest produce sourced from local farms to obtain the most flavorful seasonal ingredients,” says the website.

The 56th Street delivery menu includes a selection of imported meats and cheeses, five pastas, fish and poultry options, four vegetable sides, and four desserts including tiramisu and two chocolate mousse cakes.

We’ll provide an update once we have more info about Felice’s opening at 240 Columbus Avenue!
