Helen Rosenthal Outlines Funding For UWS Schools

In an email sent to her constituents on September 25, Helen Rosenthal stated that her office has allocated over $570,000 to UWS public schools for fiscal year 2021, which will contribute to a “wide variety of enrichment, arts, and after-school programs.”

Here is the list of recipient schools outlined in Rosenthal’s email:

  • MS 245 — Artist Residency Program
  • PS 166 — The Metropolitan Opera Guild Program
  • MS 258 — Activities & Enrichment Program
  • MS 256 — Activities & Enrichment Program
  • MS 250 — School Activities
  • New York City Center at PS 84 — Arts Program
  • CUNY Creative Arts Team at MLK Campus high schools — Arts Program
  • Reaching for the Arts at PS 191 — Operating Expenses for Afterschool Music Program
  • Elaine Kaufman Cultural Center/Lucy Moses School for Music & Dance at Special Music School — Arts Program
  • Philharmonic-Symphony Society of New York at PS 199 — Philharmonic Program
  • Marquis Studios at West End Secondary School — Arts Program
  • Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts at PS/MS 191 — Arts Program
  • YMCA at PS 191 — Afterschool Folk Arts Program

In addition to direct grants to these schools, the email states that funding has been provided to the following non-profit cultural and educational groups which provide programming for them:

Lastly, Rosenthal states that she’s allocated $1.75 million to upgrade technology systems, renovate auditoriums and a library, and keep school buildings safe and in good repair. The following schools have been listed as recipients of this capital funding:
