After suffering from a devastating fire in the dining room of Fred’s Restaurant, the owners have launched a GoFundMe campaign to get back on their feet.
Luckily, nobody was hurt, the kitchen is intact, and the damage could have been much worse, which Fred’s owners attribute to the FDNY’s quick response.
But they’ll need the community’s help to rebuild.
In addition to the money they’ll need, many of the dog photos have also been destroyed, including some of their very first family dog photos. They’ve indicated that they’d also love their neighbors to help rebuild this collection (but perhaps at a later point in time).

Up until the devastating fire, Fred’s was offering delivery and pick-up, and they did so with style and humor. If you don’t already, follow Fred’s on Instagram and check out #DeliveryDave.
Fred’s Restaurant, located at 476 Amsterdam Avenue (83rd Street), is truly an important part of the Upper West Side. Please help them with whatever amount you’re comfortable donating.
