When a 19-year-old female was walking up the stairs to exit the Columbus Circle subway station on Monday, May 15 at about 1:25 p.m., an unknown male suspect – who had just gone shopping at Whole Foods – bumped into her while walking in the opposite direction, according to police officials.
This led to a verbal dispute between the two, which further led the male suspect to push her, causing her to lose balance.
The suspect then “grabbed the victim’s left breast and continued into the station, boarding a northbound C train,” according to police. The victim was not physically injured.
Police describe the suspect as approximately 5’8″ tall, 190 pounds, with a light complexion and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue hat, a green polo shirt, a black backpack and dark pants. He was also holding a brown shopping bag over his left shoulder.
Police have shared surveillance images depicting the suspect just before the incident.
