Somm Cellars Wine & Spirits has opened its doors at 8 Riverside Boulevard at 59th Street, which is part of the Waterline Square development. The wine shop signed its lease for the space about a year ago, originally planning to open by fall 2020.
Somm Cellars comes from Jason Jacobeit, Wine Director at Bâtard, and Daniel Jung, Head Sommelier at Tribeca Grill. The space measures close to 1,300 square feet.
The grand opening was Saturday, April 8. They’ve been promoting quite a few free tastings, which have mostly taken place at 5pm.

A mention in the NY Times says prices range from “$10.95 to the mid-three figures, though some marquee labels will set you back more than $1,000.”
Somm Cellars carries a wide variety of wines and spirits, with a particular focus on Burgundy.
